There once was a boy who dreamed of his own catapult.
Then he remembered this…
His Dangerous Book for Boys has instructions for all manner of things.
Including how to make a catapult.
Ed was employed to assist in the design, here you can see the ‘technical drawing’.
And the offcuts from the branch cut from the laurel tree.
To say nothing of the boot that has a piece of leather missing.
May it rest in pieces.
So here it is, the masterpiece.
“You’ve gotta ask yourself a question: “Do I feel lucky?”
Well, do ya…punk?”

Too cool!! I wish I had made a catapult when I was a kid. It looks like fun. The sticks are so perfectly cut and shaped. Wow.

Thanks Memoria (although I can’t claim any involvement on this one)
Hi Sarah. The ‘looking down the barrel of the catapult’ shot was actually a really rushed one. He had a (girl) friend round to play and didn’t want to be my model and was all ‘Aw, Mum’ when I tried to take a photo. It was one of those quick lucky moments. Lucky in that I didn’t get my eye twanged out.

I thought these had been banned!! Reminds me of my younger days reading The Beano!
Super photos, I think I am using a wonky lens, mine look really dull lately.

I don’t know hy I didn’t come across this before… just took me to my own childhood. We used to climb up a guava tree- infested with big red ants and bring down some of the braches to male these! And now I scream when I see ants!
