April 30, 2013

Ever fancied making cheese? I did...and here it is. More to follow soon, I'm sure.

Onion Bhajis

April 22, 2013

19

Next time I'm making these homemade onion bhajis, I'll invite you all round so we can share out the calories.

Sausage Casserole

April 7, 2013

14

I'm sure that you all already know how to make a sausage casserole...maybe some of you buy a sausage casserole mix from the supermarket. Who am I to judge?

Gypsy Gammon

You don't need to cook this over a fire at the side of the road; but don't let me stop you.

Doing a plank

March 18, 2013

25

"An antipasti plank you say? I've got a big piece of oak. How big do you want it?"

Corn Tortillas

March 15, 2013

21

Preparing corn tortillas is a family affair, George is particularly good at shaping and pressing them, whilst I do the griddling. Ed is usually on chopping and beer opening detail.

Caramel Apple Tarts

March 11, 2013

10

These were destined to be apple and ginger, but they became caramel apple tarts and I can't see anyone complaining.

Hot Soft Pretzels

February 16, 2013

Hot, soft, buttery, cinnamon sugar-coated pretzels - twisted and dipped by George.

Oat & Almond Crumble Cookies

January 30, 2013

I usually just make half a batch of these oat and almond biscuits. A full plateful would be too tempting, but don't let me stop you.

Laab Moo – Pork Salad

If you like Thai flavours this is one for you. Hot, sour, salty, sweet pork salad in crispy lettuce leaves.

Every Flavour Puddings

No bogey flavour ones (these are not Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans): These are my Every Flavour Puddings.

Christmas Red Cabbage

December 22, 2012

13

A Christmas side dish that you can prepare in advance and will keep your hob free for gravy making.

Black Rice Salad

December 17, 2012

9

One last reasonably healthy recipe from me before the gluttony of Christmas descends. Ed created this black rice salad one lunch time which is greater than the sum of its parts.

Clementine Madeleines

December 6, 2012

25

These are a nice alternative to a mince pie. They give you that 'chocolate orange vibe' without having to tap-it-and-unwrap-it.

Dulce de Leche Brownies

November 19, 2012

41

Super gloopy, caramel filled chocolate brownies.

Dark and Stormy

November 6, 2012

4

These short, cold days have me craving a 'Dark and Stormy'. Actually they have been making me reminisce about drinking cocktails in the sunshine in Bermuda. It's a magical place with turquoise seas and pink sandy beaches. We once spent a week zipping around the island on mopeds, swimming with dolphins...and drinking these.

Brendan’s Normandy Apple Tart

October 29, 2012

13

I spent Friday at the Seasoned Cookery School on a 'Brilliant Bakes' course hosted by Brendan, finalist in 2012's Great British Bake Off. The day started off very well with a slab of Brendan's homemade granola slice and a cup of tea.
